Documentary
Directed by Lloyd Kaufman
Starring Quentin Tarantino, Claude Chabrol
Since 1939, filmmakers and film lovers from the world over have flocked to the Cannes Film Festival to promote and worship cinema. The mainstream media only shows the glamour, the Hollywood stars and the international glitterati, but the Cannes Film Festival is for everyone. For nearly 30 years, Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team have made their annual pilgrimage to this center of cinematic culture on a very low budget. What was supposed to be a simple, straightforward educational exercise proved to be quite something else. Watch the Troma team take on the elitist media conglomerates as the employees get punched out one night, then meet with big-time movie executives in suits the next day. Its everything you wanted to know about film promotion with an abundance of topless women, fornication, and fisticuffs!
“PERHAPS, THE MOST TRUTHFUL AND TELLING EXPERIENCE OF ANYONE WHO’S TRYING TO DO REASONABLY WELL IN CANNES WITH CHUFF-ALL MONEY.”
